Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant-General Said Chengriha, confirmed today, Tuesday, in Cherchell (Tipaza), that People’s National Army was and still is a “genuine school that produces real men,” noting that the high command “is keen not only to teach students of all levels the bases of science and knowledge, but also instills in their hearts the values of patriotism and loyalty to the glorious martyrs.”
A statement by the Ministry of National Defense indicated that “given the paramount importance granted by the Supreme Command of the National People’s Army to the training system in all its specializations and levels, and on the eve of the celebration of the end of the school year 2020-2021, and the graduation of various promotions, Lieutenant-General Said Chengriha, Chief of Staff of National People’s Army, paid today, Tuesday, a working and inspection visit to the Military Academy of Cherchell.
Chief of Staff of People’s National Army paid tribute, at the entrance of the academy, to the soul of late President Houari Boumediene, whose name is borne by the academy, and laid a wreath at the memorial monument on his name and recited Al-Fatiha of the holy Coran on his pure soul. The visit then began with a presentation by the commander of the Military Academy of Cherchell on “ The general situation of this pioneering training fortress, its process and development of training and education, and the basic role it plays in the field of training students and interns, as it is a real nursery for producing competencies and an inexhaustible source from which the various combat units are supplied with the competent and qualified human resources that ensure the continued implementation of their tasks.”
After that, Lieutenant-General Chengriha, held, in the presence of the Commander of Land Forces, the Commander of the First Military Region and the Commander of the Academy, a meeting bringing together the executives and students of the Academy, during which he delivered a speech in which he renewed his congratulations to the members of the Military Academy of Cherchell, and through them to all employees of People’s National Army, on the occasion of the celebration of the 59th anniversary for Independence and youth, and reminded them of the duty to “evoke the sacrifices and heroisms of the righteous martyrs and bow down before their pure souls.”
Lieutenant General Chengriha said, in this regard, : “I would also like to take advantage of this honorable occasion, as our country is still celebrating its 59th Independence Day to renew to you, members of the Military Academy of Cherchell and all its staff and employees, and through you to all employees of People’s National Army, my warmest congratulations.” I sincerely wish, praying to Allah Almighty to bring back this glorious national memory to our country with more strength, immunity, and stability.
Lieutenant-General Chengriha also pointed out that “one of the most important indicators of the development achieved by People’s National Army, in practice and on the ground, are those steps taken in the field of developing its combat and operational capabilities.”
In this regard, the army’s chief of staff said: “There is no doubt that one of the most important indicators of the development achieved by People’s National Army, the descendant of the National Liberation Army, in practice and on the ground, are those steps taken in the field of developing its combat and operational capabilities, especially through conducting successfully tactical exercises throughout the training year, as the Supreme Command of the National People’s Army attaches great importance to the combat preparation of the forces in order to continuously raise the combat readiness of individuals and their control over the various modern weapons systems possessed by the National People’s Army, and thus enhance the combat effectiveness of our army units, stationed in every inch of our national soil, these, he went on to say, are the developmental goals that we always seek, with great determination, to consolidate their pillars by appreciating and valuing all the efforts made by military personnel in all categories and levels.
After that, Mr. Lieutenant-General gave the floor to the staff and students who expressed their “gratitude for the care given by the high command of the Academy,” expressing their “great pride in belonging to the ranks of People’s National Army, the descendant of the National Liberation Army, and their constant readiness to defend the homeland and preserve its sovereignty, its security and stability.”
At the end of the visit, Lieutenant-General Chengriha inaugurated the Academy’s regiment, he listened to a presentation about it and toured its various facilities.
