Lieutenant-General Said Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, supervised today, Wednesday, at the Ain Oussera air base in the first military region, the parachute jump drill, which was carried out by members of the national military team in this specialty, the drill zas marked by the participation of female military staff.
The Lieutenant-General followed closely on the spot, the course of the drill, in the presence of the commanders of the land and air forces, the first military region and the head of the Military Sports Department, and the drill was crowned with a “complete success,” according to a statement by the Ministry of National Defense.
“At the end of the drill, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army met with the members of the national military parachute jump team, and congratulated them on the encouraging results achieved thanks to the strenuous efforts they made throughout the training year, as well as during the preparation and execution of this drill, noting the high level reached by our national military parachute jumping team, and the brilliant achievements made at the national and international levels,” according to the same source.
In this context, Lieutenant-General Said Chengriha said: “On the occasion of my supervision today at the Ain Oussera air base in the first military region, of the parachute jump drill, I would like to commend and praise the high level of our national military team, in this specialization, and the brilliant achievements made at the national and international levels, and the best evidence of that is the brilliant drill made a few days ago on the occasion of the graduation of promotions of students at the Military Academy of Cherchell, named “the late President Houari Boumediene”, which was chaired by the President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, where the audience and spectators were stunned, with the degree of professionalism and excellence of the army thanks to the seriousness in work and the keenness to represent to the best the People’s National Army, and raise the flag of Algeria high, in international sports events.”
The Lieutenant-General also expressed his “satisfaction” to see female employees participating in this type of sport, and succeeding in one of the disciplines that until recently were reserved to men, “which proves their great will to enter all fields of the military profession,” urging them to do more efforts to further raise the level of sport in the People’s National Army.
Mr. Chengriha also stresses – “the solidity of the strategy of the Supreme Command of the National People’s Army, which aims to motivate the female component, to occupy the position it deserves at all levels and fields, and to involve women in the general effort to develop all components of our armed forces, in appreciation those women of resistance, fight and struggle, and encouragement to her successor to follow in the footsteps of the ancestors and continue to make sincere and persevering efforts in the service of this homeland recovered through sacrifices and the People’s National Army, the descendant and heir of the National Liberation Army.”
