Argentina Lionel Messi will not sign a new contract with Barcelona, ranked third of la Liga, following 20 years of outstanding relations between the Argentinean star and the Spanish giant, annouced FC Barcelona yesterday.
Barcelona say Lionel Messi will not be staying at the club “because of financial and structural obstacles”.
“Both parties deeply regret that the wishes of the player and the club will ultimately not be fulfilled,” the club added.
Messi, 34, has been a free agent since 1 July when his contract expired.
