LNG: signing of a Sonatrach-Sinopec contract for the construction of a new storage tank in Skikda

Sonatrach signed a contract on Thursday in Algiers with the Chinese consortium Sinopec for the construction of a new LNG storage tank with a capacity of 150,000 M3 at the Skikda GL1K liquefaction complex.

The contract, for a total amount of 25 billion dinars and a completion period of 40 months, includes the implementation of the dismantling project for two existing ferries at the level of the complex.

The project also includes the supply and installation of equipment for the connection of the future ferry to the new LNG loading system of the project in progress of the new pier dedicated to the extension of the oil port of Skikda.

This will, according to Sonatrach, ensure the removal and rotation of LNG vessels dedicated to export.

Once delivered, this project will allow the increase of Sonatrach’s LNG storage capacity and the increase in related removal volumes.
