Mediterranean Games: President of the International Committee for the Mediterranean Games on a visit to Oran

The President of the International Committee for the Mediterranean Games, David Tisano, arrived Friday night in Oran to participate in the final preparations for the city that will host the nineteenth Mediterranean Games, whose kickoff will be given on June 25.

This is the third visit of the Italian sports official to the Algerian capital of western Algeria since his election as president of the International Committee for the Mediterranean Games last October. At the end of his two previous visits, he expressed his complete satisfaction with the means that Algeria mobilized for the success of the Mediterranean sports event.

With regard to the first edition of the Mediterranean Games to be organized during his first term, David Tizano, who succeeded Algerian Amar Adadi at the head of the International Committee, showed great ambitions for the Oran Games to be a new starting point for the Mediterranean Games, which lost much of its luster during the past few years, as he personally admitted in his previous media statements.

Mr. Tisano, the former world champion in rowing, will chair this week the meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Committee for the Mediterranean Games, which will dedicate its agenda to assessing the latest preparations for the Mediterranean eventin Oran, according to the organizers.
