President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, announced today, Thursday, the conclusion of the graduation ceremony of three batches of officers at the Military Academy of Cherchell, named after the late President Houari Boumediene.
After the ceremony was concluded, the President of the Republic went to the Academy’s scientific exhibition to follow up on some of the scientific work carried out by graduates of master’s and bachelor’s officers, staffs and professors of the Academy.
The President of the Republic had arrived at the Academy in the morning, where he was greeted at the main entrance by Major-General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, accompanied by Major General Ammar Atamnia, Commander of the Land Forces, Major General Ali Sidane, Commander of the First Military Region, and Major General Salmi Bacha, Commander of the Military Academy of Cherchell, where a military squad gave him an honorary salute.
The graduation of the military batches was attended by the Speaker of the National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Council, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance, respectively, Salah Goudjil, Kamel Fenniche, Aïmene Benabderrahmane and a number of government members, in addition to the commander of the Republican Guard, Major-General Benali Benali, And a number of high-ranking officials in the National People’s Army and representatives of the diplomatic corps operating in Algeria.
On this occasion, President of the Republic stood at the main entrance of the Academy at the memorial of the late President Houari Boumediene, whose name the school bears, pausing for mercy on his pure soul, by reading Al-Fatiha of the holy Quran and laying a wreath, then he moved to the honorary hall where he was given a detailed presentation about the Academy.
Later, the official festivities of the graduation ceremony for the academic year 2020/2021 began, starting with inspecting the boxes of the graduating officers in the Flag Square, naming the graduating batches, and presenting operational exercises and combat and sports performances to the students.
Before leaving the Military Academy of Cherchell, President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the Minister of National Defense supervised a special honor to the family of the late Mujahid Major-General Mohamed Al-Amari, after which he wrote a speech in the Academy’s golden record.
