
Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezzig, gave today, Sunday “strict” instructions to intensify control operations on wholesale and retail markets and to combat speculation, following the recent rise in the prices of some widely consumed items, especially vegetables and fruits.
According to a statement published by the ministry, “Mr. Rezzig chaired an emergency meeting today, Sunday, held via videoconference, in the presence of the central executives of the ministry and the regional and provincial trade directors,” during which he gave “strict instructions to combat all forms of speculation.”
In the same context, Rezzig underlined, “the decision to authorize farmers to sell their products directly to the consumer without obtaining any license or permit.”
