The Minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji met today, Tuesday, in the presence of a representative of the Ministry of Industry, with a number of investment projects holders in the field of film industry, in order to consult and listen to their concerns and the obstacles they face to implement their projects, in a bid to find solutions to implement the sector’s new vision in reviving a real film industry in Algeria, in line with the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who stressed on more than one occasion the study of various aspects related to the revival of the cinematographic industry and audiovisual production by identifying a number of key projects to structure this activity, as well as the need to integrate modern media for the distribution and consumption of the film and audiovisual product.
In a speech delivered on the occasion, the Minister of Culture and Arts stated that, according to the government’s action plan, the ministry will support, based on the available capabilities, all initiatives which fall within the framework of reviving the film industry in partnership with the various relevant sectors in order to develop this strategic sector.
This meeting comes after the issuance of the new investment law, which aims to develop sectors of priority activities with high added value, ensure sustainable and balanced regional development, value natural resources and local primary resources, activate the creation of permanent jobs, upgrade competencies and human resources, and give preference to technological transformation and innovation development and knowledge economy.
