The Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belabed, confirmed today, Thursday, that the decision to resume studies or not in the three educational phases will be announced in the same manner in which the decision to suspend studies was taken on January 20, which was after an exceptional meeting chaired by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
On his arrival as a guest on public television, the minister said that the “appropriate and right” decision to resume the study next Sunday or not will be announced after the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune informs on the various reports submitted to him by all parties, in “the same manner in which school was suspended on January 20 for a period of 10 days.”
The minister considered that the decision to resume school “does not concern the education sector alone, given that the matter concerns the entire community.”
It was decided to suspend studies as a precaution for a period of ten (10) days in the three educational phases (primary, intermediate, and secondary) following an extraordinary meeting chaired by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune on January 19, it was devoted to assessing the epidemiological situation in the country due to the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
