Minister of Education: “The state is making every effort to provide the necessary protection for professionals in the sector”

The Minister of National Education, AbdelhakimBelabed, confirmed today, Thursday, from the province of Batna, that the state, through his ministerial department, is making every effort to “provide the necessary protection for all professionals in the sector.”

The minister made it clear, in a press statement, to the university hospital of the province, where he was transferred, accompanied by the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Issues, KaoutarKrikou, to check on the health condition of Professor RayhanaBenchia, who was attacked yesterday, Wednesday, by someone.

Her students stated that “this incident calls for thinking about making changes to the internal regulations in force in educational institutions.”

Belabed also stated that he had recommended the local director of education to arrange special circumstances at the hospital level to enable Professor Benchia to pass the promotion exam on January 21 in the event that she continues to stay in the hospital, reaffirming “the Algerian state’s support and accompaniment to the victim teacher until she is fully recovered.”

The minister revealed that he had ordered the opening of an investigation into the circumstances of the accident to which the Arabic language teacher was subjected to to determine the responsibilities, stressing by saying, “After the results of the investigation appear, we will not hesitate to take punitive measures and apply the law against everyone who has responsibility in this painful incident.”

It is worth noting that the Arabic language teacher at a middle school was stabbed yesterday, Wednesday, by a dagger in the back by a student in the same institution.
