The Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, called today Saturday, in Algiers, on the National Body for Technical Control of Building to export its experiences gained over the past five decades.

In a speech he delivered during the international symposium to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the National Body for Technical Control of Building, entitled “Technical Control: A Path of Experience and Innovations,” Belaribi stressed the need to export the experiences and knowledge gained by the body’s engineers and executives “as they monitored the completion of many facilities with a global dimension from Universities, airports and stadiums that have given them enough experience.”

The minister called on the engineers and executives of the National Body for Technical Control of Building to increase the scope of work, scientific and technical production of their expertise and export their knowledge.

The sector will be keen to implement this endeavor through its contribution at the level of the Arab League and the United Nations Human Settlements Program, to be another added value to the services of the National Research Center applied in earthquake resistance engineering that can be exported outside the country, adds Belaribi.

The minister recalled the sector’s efforts in strengthening the necessary mechanisms to monitor the quality of construction through a new strategy for training, building capacities, and developing organizational and technical procedures.

Belaribi indicated that the technical and scientific objective of the symposium is to intensify and encourage the efforts and commitment of the concerned specialists in the field of exchanging information and experiences.

In this regard, Belaribi stressed the utmost importance that the country’s highest authorities attach to the sector of  housing, urban planning and the City which is reflected in the commitment of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to solving the housing crisis through the development of a housing program of 1 million housing units in various formats.

For his part, the Director-General of the body, Boumediene Oukassi, gave a technical presentation that included a project to reorganize and modernize the body’s activity and develop it scientifically through a modern technical ground and a work team for legislative and regulatory vigilance for the authority, as well as professional recommendations to support the authority.
