Minister of Mujahedeen: Emir Abdelkader will remain a symbol of resistance and humanitarian stances

The Minister of Mujahedeen ( war veterans ) and Rights’ Holders , Laïd Rebigua, affirmed today, Saturday, that Emir Abdelkader will remain a “symbol” of the popular resistance against colonialism and a “global symbol” through his eternal humanitarian stances.

Rebigua wrote on his official Twitter page, on the occasion of the 189th anniversary of the pledge of allegiance to Emir Abdelkader, which coincided with the holding of the local elections, “On this glorious day in which the new Algeria completes the building of its constitutional institutions, we celebrate the 189th anniversary of the pledge of allegiance to Emir Abdelkader, under the Elm tree in the Ghriss Plain in Mascara on November 27, 1832,” stressing that “our honorable prince, the founder of the modern Algerian state, will remain a symbol of popular resistance to colonialism, and a global symbol through his immortal humanitarian stances.”

He added that the reference values ​​of Emir Abdelkader “will remain a lever for generations, from which the sense of wisdom, insight and sacrifice for the sake of the homeland will be derived.”
