Minister of National Solidarity: Algeria has a pioneering experience in the involvement of women in the green economy

The Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Issues, Kaoutar Krikou, affirmed, Sunday in Algiers, that Algeria has a pioneering experience in the field of women’s empowerment and their involvement in the green economy.

In a statement to the press on the sidelines of her participation, via videoconference, in an Arab preparatory meeting for the 66th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women to be held next March, on achieving gender equality and empowering women in policies to reduce the dangers of climate change and women’s involvement in the green economy, the Minister explained that during the second day of the preparatory meeting, Algeria’s experience in this field will be presented.

In the same context, Ms. Krikou referred to the projects offered by the state to women in particular in order to engage them in the endeavor of the green economy and environmental fields, noting that a unified Arab strategy was adopted in addition to preparing programs in this field.

For reference, the first day of the meeting witnessed the discussion of the Arab statement issued by this preparatory meeting for the 66th session of the Commission on the Status of Women.
