Minister of Solidarity and advisor to the president in charge of religious associations share with orphans and elderly the joy of Eid al-Fitr

Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Issues, Kaoutar Krikou, and the advisor to the President in charge of religious associations, Issa Belekhdar, shared this Thursday the joy of the first day of the blessed Eid al-Fitr with a group of children and elderly residents of shelters in El-Biar and Dely Brahim.

On the occasion of a ceremony held at People Without Shelter center in Dely Brahim, attended by the advisor to the President in charge of religious associations, Issa Belekhdar, accompanied by local authorities of  Eastern Province of Cheraga, in honor of the elderly and children of El-Biar Childhood Aid Center, the participation of this segment of Algerian society reflects “a firm conviction of the political will in the country embodied in the Constitution of November 2020, which emphasized the need to pay attention to vulnerable groups, especially the elderly and children,” and that -the Ministry  adds – is present to embody this commitment and work to preserve it.

Mrs. Krikou explained, in the same context, that the gathering of children residing in El-Biar Center with the elderly residents of Dely Brahim Center is an attempt to provide a “model” for communication between these generations in order to establish the traditions of meeting and rapprochement between children, fathers and mothers, and said that she noticed the existence of “Great harmony between the two generations.”

For his part, the advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of religious societies, Issa Belekhdar, considered that this “distinguished” stance cultivates joy among the various segments of society, and also reflects – according to him – what the state has devoted to laws and more than 40 articles in the constitution  about rights, saying that these materials are embodied in the field for the benefit of multiple groups, such as those with special needs, children, the elderly, rural residents and disadvantaged areas.

He mentioned, on this occasion, that these laws “reflect the promises of the President of the Republic that he is committed to these Algerians based on his loyalty to the values of Algerians stemming from their history of cohesive struggle and the ideas of its politicians, thinkers and intellectuals.”

Finally, Belekhdar called on all Algerians to “seize” the opportunity to have parents and not to abandon them, because Eid is a religious occasion in which the Prophet, may peace be upon him, urged kindness and concern for orphans, considering that “Eid has no meaning if those fathers and children are forgotten.”

It is worth noting that the visit was an opportunity to share the joy of the Eid with the children and the elderly, who were unable to spend the Eid al-Fitr occasion among their families. The Minister and those who accompanied her supervised the distribution of gifts to the attendees in order to bring joy to their hearts.
