Minister of Transport Aïssa Bekkai chaired, today, Monday, a meeting with representatives of the institutions in charge of implementing and following up the Mostaganem Tramway project, during which he instructed the need to complete the project works before the end of the current year 2021.
A press release of the ministry, which was posted on its official Facebook account, stated that “the meeting touched on the progress of the percentage of works, as well as the concerns and obstacles facing this vital project, in order to find solutions to speed up the pace of completion and complete it before the end of the current year, and to start the second phase related to various technical and dynamic experiments as well as the recruitment and training of specialized labor to enter the stage of exploitation within the specified deadlines.
Aïssa Bekkai also directed “strict” instructions to take all necessary measures to remove obstacles, whether related to the financial, technical and logistical aspect, “given the importance of the project on the developmental level and its contribution to improving and upgrading mass transit services in the province,” added the same source.
