Ministry of Agriculture: Providing more than 20 million doses of avian influenza vaccine

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced, in a statement today, Sunday, that more than 20 million doses of avian influenza vaccine have been provided as part of the measures taken to protect poultry from this epidemic.

This statement, which aims to reassure all operators in the Egg and White Meat Production Division, stated: “The veterinary services of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development conclude that they have taken all preventive health measures in order to protect poultry wealth, as more than 20 million doses of vaccine against bird flu have been monitored and are available.”

However, the ministry indicated in its statement that “vaccination against avian influenza comes only as a supplement, and cannot replace the precautionary rules of hygiene that must be respected and the proper management of poultry farming (vaccination against other diseases, especially Mark and Newcastle) as well as all measures to protect poultry wealth.
