Ministry of Communication: Withdraw of accreditation of French news channel “France 24”

The Ministry of Communication decided, today, Sunday, to withdraw the accreditation granted to the representation of the news channel “France 24” in Algeria, according to the information Algerian News Agency (APS) received from the Minister of Communication, the official spokesman of the government, Ammar Belhimer.

The same source explained that the decision to withdraw the accreditation was due to “the clear and repeated hostility of this channel towards our country and its institutions, its lack of respect for the rules of professional ethics and its practice of media misinformation and manipulation, in addition to the confirmed aggression against Algeria.”

On March 13, the Ministry of Communications sent France 24 a “final warning” before the “final withdrawal” of accreditation due to its “blatant bias” in covering popular marches in Algeria.

“France 24’s bias in covering Friday rallies is blatant through their use of archive images to help the anti-patriotic remnants formed by reactionary or separatist organizations, with international reach,” added the ministry.
