Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Algeria strongly condemns terrorist attack that targeted police station in Libyan city of Sebha

Algeria expressed its strong condemnation of the terrorist attack that targeted a Libyan police post at the entrance to the Libyan city of Sebha on Monday, killing two officers and wounding five other policemen.

“Algeria expresses its strong condemnation of the terrorist attack that targeted on June 7, 2021 a Libyan police site at the entrance to the city of Sebha, which led to the martyrdom of two officers and the injury of 5 other policemen,” said a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The same source added that “Algeria renews its stance and absolute solidarity with the brotherly Libyan people and affirms its unconditional support for the Libyan authorities in their tireless efforts to restore political and security stability throughout Libya,” expressing “its sincere condolences and sympathy to the brotherly Libyan government, people, and families of the martyrs, wishing for a quick recovery to the injured.”

Earlier today, the Libyan Ministry of Interior issued immediate instructions to the Sebha Security Directorate and the Criminal Investigation Agency regarding to initiate investigating the incident and taking samples from the crime scene.
