The Ministry of Health called on citizens who received the first dose of Sputnik vaccine against Covid-19 virus to approach various health institutions to receive the second dose, according to a press release issued by the Ministry on Thursday.
Last Monday, a military transport plane belonging to Air Force arrived at Boufarik (Blida) airbase, carrying a shipment of anti-Covid-19 vaccine, estimated at two hundred and six thousand doses that were acquired from Russia, as this operation falls within the framework of “strengthening the national health system with vaccines and necessary medical equipment to limit the spread of this pandemic.”
It is worth noting that Minister of Health, Abderrahmane Benbouzid, announced today in Algiers that 50 percent of the groups involved in the vaccination process against Coronavirus benefited from this campaign, which is equivalent to 10 million out of 20 million people.
In a meeting with the Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdelbaki Bouziane, National Education Abdelhakim Belabed, vocational training and education Yacine Merabi, and Youth and Sports Abderrezak Sabkak, Benbouzid appealed to all citizens to embrace the vaccination campaign, which he described as “the effective means to limit the spread of the virus, in order to avoid a fourth wave,” he added, on the occasion, that “50 percent of the targeted people benefited from this process, i.e. 10 million people out of the 20 million targeted.”
