Ministry of Industry calls on citizens to engage in collecting skins of sacrificial animals

Ministry of Industry called today, Monday for the necessity that citizens engage in the process of collecting sacrificial animals’ skins on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, noting that the good skins are destined to meet the needs of leather industry and placed at the disposal of tanneries in order to exploit them.

The Ministry of Industry indicated in a statement that on the occasion of the preparations for Eid al-Adha celebration, it announces the participation of its basic institutions with direct relationship, as well as warehouses qualified for this (GETEX Leather and Textile Industries Complex) in the process of collecting sacrificial animal’s skins (sheep and cows), in coordination with all other ministerial departments in line with the instructions of the Prime Minister.

To ensure the smooth running of this operation, the statement says, “The Ministry of Industry calls on the concerned departments in coordination with local authorities and economic institutions to collect the skins and also direct them towards public and private slaughterhouses located at the level of various provinces.”

Given the nature of the public benefit on environment and national economy, the ministry called for “the need for citizens to engage in this process, which will take place with the contribution of the industry directorates located at the level of their provinces, as they are entrusted with supervising and framing the operation.”

The same source pointed out that “good skins will be destined to meet the needs of leather industry and placed at the disposal of tanneries for exploitation.”

The ministry also confirmed that it pays “great attention to this operation which has an economic value through the development and strengthening of leather division and the valorization of raw materials as one of the important branches, as well as its keenness to preserve the environment.”
