Ministry of Interior, Local Communities and Territory Planning announced today, Sunday, that it has been recently noticed that weekly marches have begun to experience dangerous slippages and deviations, becoming indifferent to the inconvenience, intimidation, and the infringement of freedom that the citizens suffer from.
The ministry’s statement said, “It has been noticed recently that the weekly marches have started to experience dangerous slippages and deviations, becoming indifferent to the inconvenience, intimidation, and the infringement of freedom that citizens suffer from, through the actions of people who change the direction of their march all the time, claiming that they are free to walk in any direction and through any street, which is inconsistent with public order and the laws of the Republic.
The statement added, “It is necessary to recall what November 2020 constitution has enshrined in the field of freedom of march, and that is as soon as the declaration is made.”
The statement of the Ministry of Interior emphasized the necessity of “the declaration, to the competent authorities, by the organizers of the names of those responsible for organizing the march, the time of the beginning and the end of the march, the path, and the slogans to be raised, as required by law.”
The statement considered that failure to adhere to these procedures “results in a violation of the law and the constitution, which denies the legitimacy of the march, and it is necessary to deal with it on this basis.”
