Security services of Tebessa province managed to seize more than 13 quintals of various types of meat and offal that are not suitable for human consumption during separate operations, according to what was reported today, Friday, in a press release issued by the Communication and Public Relations Cell for this security body.
The same source explained that on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, security services, in coordination with the Trade and Agriculture Departments, have intensified inspection visits for meat-selling stores and their storage places, with the aim of monitoring the quality of the offered goods and fighting monopoly.
These outputs resulted in the registration of 9 violations related to non-respect of hygiene conditions with the seizure of significant quantities of white and red meat, some of which are not indicated and some of them are not suitable for human consumption due to displaying them in unsanitary conditions.
The press release stated that more than 141 kg of red meat and 55 kg of white meat, in addition to more than 225 kg of internal viscera, ground meat and frozen meat have been seized in the capital to be destroyed and all legal measures against the violators were taken.
On the other hand, security services of the Bir el-Ater Department were able to seize no less than 890 kg of red meat not suitable for human consumption, according to the same document.
