More than 200,000 worshipers perform Eid al-Fitr prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque

More than 200,000 Palestinian worshipers performed today, Monday, the Eid al-Fitr prayer at the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Salim, called for “the necessity of a continuous presence in the mosque, in order to repel the suspicious and dangerous schemes that the occupation seeks to impose,” stressing that Al-Aqsa Mosque is “a red line, and the Palestinian people or the Islamic nation in the four corners of the world cannot allow its desecration .”

The Al-Aqsa Mosque was subject during the month of Ramadan, to violent confrontations after threats by Zionist groups to storm the mosque. Hundreds of Palestinian youths confronted the settlers who stormed the mosque’s courtyards by force, under the protection of the Zionist occupation police, who assaulted the youths and shot them with bullets, tear gas and sound bombs, resulting in the injury and arrest of hundreds.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces arrested two liberated prisoners from the town of Hizma, northeast of Jerusalem, at dawn today.

Palestinian sources said that the occupation forces arrested the two liberated prisoners after raiding and searching their homes, amid the outbreak of confrontations with Palestinian youth, but no injuries were reported.

Last night, the Zionist occupation forces also stormed the village of Marda, north of Salfit, in the north of the West Bank, during which the soldiers fired stun grenades throughout the village, which caused a state of fear and panic, especially among children.

It’s worth noting that the occupation forces launch a campaign of arrests and raids almost daily in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, as part of their repressive practices against the Palestinian people.
