Mujaheed, former minister Sassi Laamouri passes away

Mujaheed and former minister Sassi Laamouri died at the age of 83, the Ministry of Mujahedeen and Rights Holders said on Saturday.

Born in 1940 in Mila, the deceased learned the Quran at a young age. After the outbreak of the glorious National Liberation War he joined the ranks of the Civil Organisation of the National Liberation Army (ALN) in the historic Wilaya II, before being imprisoned from 1957 to 1962.

The deceased was Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs in 1992 in Sid Ahmed Ghozali’s government and then in Mokdad Sifi’s in 1994.

In this painful circumstance, the Minister of Moudjahidine and Rightful Claimants, Laïd Rebiga, expresses his sincere condolences and deep compassion to the family of the deceased, praying to God the Almighty to wrap the deceased with His holy mercy, to welcome him into His vast paradise and to lend patience and comfort to his family.
