President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, supervises an honoring ceremony on the occasion of the National Army Day
The President of the Republic, Supreme Head of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune supervised, on Thursday at the National Circle of the Army in Beni Messous (Algiers), a ceremony of distinction on the occasion of the National People’s Army (ANP) National Day.
President Tebboune was greeted on his arrival at the Cercle national de l’Armée by the Chief of Staff of the ANP, General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha. After listening to the national anthem, he reviewed a military formation that gave him an honorary salute and shook hands with senior officers of the People’s National Army.
The honoring ceremony took place in the presence of the President of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Salah Goudjil, the President of the National People’s Assembly (APN), Mr. Brahim Boughali, the President of the Constitutional Court, Omar Belhadj, the Prime Minister, Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane, advisers to the President of the Republic, members of the Government as well as the Commander of the Republican Guard, Army General Benali Benali.
Also present were the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, the commanders of the armed forces, the commander of the National Gendarmerie, the heads of departments, the directors and heads of services at the Ministry of National Defense and at the General Staff of the Arly, as well as senior state officials, national figures and the Mujahideen.
The President of the Republic presented certificates of recognition to ANP retirees, to families of martyrs of national duty and to disabled and seriously injured ANP personnel in the context of the fight against terrorism.
On this occasion, Army General Saïd Chanegriha affirmed, in a speech, that the establishment by the President of the Republic of the date of conversion of the National Liberation Army into the People’s National Army, on August 4, National Day of the People’s National Army is inspired by the values of self-sacrifice and sacrifice for the Fatherland, and aspires to root their noble principles in the minds of successive generations of the Algerian people.
The National Day of the ANP, celebrated on August 4 of each year, was instituted by the President of the Republic, Supreme Head of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in order to remember the evolution process of the ANP of which the ALN is the quintessence.
