National Bank of Algeria launched today Thursday, the first agency aimed exclusively at Islamic banking services, namely Hussein day Agency number “635”.
On this occasion, the director of Hussein Dey Islamic banking agency, Mounia Mansour, explained that Hussein Dey agency had an Islamic window and was today transformed into an agency exclusively dedicated to this activity, which confirms, the bank’s orientation towards further development of Islamic banking and providing high quality services to customers interested in this activity by a competent and trained team.
In the same context, Mrs. Amina Athmaniah, head of Islamic banking division of the National Bank of Algeria, announced that other agencies dedicated to Islamic banking will be opened within the coming months.
She also pointed out that the National Bank of Algeria was the first public bank to launch Islamic banking in Algeria on August 4th 2020 by offering Chariah-compliant banking products through 64 counters located in its agencies in various regions of the country.
Projects of similar agencies were announced by the same official across the other regions of the country to provide services of Islamic banking that witnesses more interests from customers.
