
The Central Directorate of Military Health Services received Wednesday a field hospital offered by the United States of America to Algeria as a donation, as part of efforts to fight Covid-19 pandemic, said Thursday a statement from the Ministry of National Defence (MDN).
“As a concrete expression of Algerian-American military cooperation, and as part of the efforts made in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, the Central Directorate of Military Health Services/MDN received yesterday, Wednesday 11 August 2021, a field hospital offered by the United States of America to Algeria as a donation,” the same source notes.
This hospital operates with “the negative pressure system and has a capacity of 30 isolation and hospitalization beds and 5 reanimation beds”, the statement said.
The event, which took place at the Central Military Health Support Establishment in Blida/1st Military Region, was attended by officials from the Ministry of National Defence, as well as the Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Algiers, Gautam Rana.
