National Gendarmerie Regional Brigade in Boudouao, north of Boumerdes, thwarted an attempt to illegally emigrate from one of the beaches of the city of Boudouao, and arrested 17 people in the process, according to a source from the regional group of the National Gendarmerie in the wilaya.
The arrested persons will be brought before the competent judicial authorities in order to complete the investigation and trial on charges of “smuggling illegal migrants across the sea and endangering their lives,” according to the same source.
