National Office for Drug Control: sponsoring more than 6,700 drug addicts during the first six months of 2021

More than 6,700 drug addicts benefited from medical and treatment coverage during the first six months of 2021, according to the National Office for Combating Drugs and Drug Abuse, which revealed that cannabis represents 36.17 percent of the drugs that have been consumed.

In this regard, the same source confirmed that “a total of 6,799 drug addicts benefited from medical and treatment coverage during the first semester of 2021, including 2,832 beneficiaries between the ages of 16 and 25 years, epresenting 41.65 percent. “

Regarding the age group of these addicts who received treatment during the same period, the outcome stated as follows : 2,705 people aged between 26 and 35 years, while 1,195 of them were over 35 years old, in addition to 67 people under 15 years old.

The outcome, which was prepared based on the statistics provided by the anti-drug services, indicated that 1,857 of these addicts are married, 4,239 others are unmarried, and 529 of them are women.

The outcome also indicated that 53.73 percent of the total number of these addicts are unemployed.
