National Statistics Office: Industrial production prices increased by 3 percent during the third quarter of 2021

The prices of industrial production outside of hydrocarbons for the national public sector increased by 3 percent during the third quarter of 2021 compared to the previous three, according to a communiqué of the National Office for Statistics.

Separating the price development by sector of activity during the period from July to September 2021, the Office indicated an increase in production prices in the energy sector by 3.2 percent compared to the second quarter, which witnessed a decrease of 2.4 percent.

This increase affected the mining and quarrying sectors, whose price rose from 0.3 percent during the second quarter to 5.3 percent currently, especially some activities such as the prices of the phosphate mineral extraction branch (+7.2 percent).

The prices of the iron and steel, mechanical, electrical and electronic industries also increased by 8.2 percent, compared to 5 percent during the second trimester, “with a lower volume, but it remains important.”
