The Minister of Industry, Ahmed Zeghdar, accompanied by the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Lotfi Benbahmed, and the Minister of Housing Tarek Belaribi, supervised, in Oran, the implementation of a plant for the production of medical gas owned by the company RAYANOX.
This plant will produce four types of medical gases, mainly medical oxygen, with a production capacity of 100,000 liters per day and a storage capacity of one million (01) liters, in addition to an oxygen filling unit with a production capacity of 5,000 tanks per day, said the Ministry of Industry in the same statement.
This plant will also produce the following medical gases: CO2 with a production capacity of 5,000 kg per day, NO2 with a production capacity of 1,500 kg per day and Acetylene with a production capacity of 1,500 kg per day.
The commissioning of this plant will increase the value of national production and meet the national needs of this vital and strategic product within the current health situation, as it will cover the needs of hospitals in the provinces of west and center of the country, according to the same source.
The demand for oxygen has increased, the plants of Al-Hadjar, the plant AQS Ballara or Tosyali, are making great efforts to increase their production to meet the high demand, said the Ministry of Industry, noting that the Bellara plant in Jijel has doubled its production in just two months, from 40,000 to 100,000 liters per day.
