Over 5,000 accidents and 670 deaths in the first quarter of 2021

More than 5,000 traffic accidents resulting in 670 deaths and 7,747 injuries were recorded nationwide during the first quarter of 2021, the National Delegation for Road Safety (NDRS) announced on Monday.

The NDRS indicated in a published report on traffic accidents on the national level (urban and rural areas), in the first quarter of the year 2021, that 5874 traffic accidents were recorded at the national level, resulting in the loss of 670 lives and 7747 injuries during this quarter.

The same source indicates that traffic accidents recorded during this period have witnessed “an increase” in most indicators, namely an increase in the number of accidents (14.21%) and in the number of injuries (11.90%).

The number of deaths, on the other hand, fell by (09.83%), compared to the first quarter of 2020.
