Pharmaceutical industry: Benbahmed discusses with the Tunisian ambassador ways to promote bilateral cooperation

The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, AbderrahmaneLotfi Djamel Benbahmed, has received the Tunisian ambassador to Algiers, Al-Fayed Ramadan, with whom he discussed the possibilities of promoting and developing bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical field, according to a ministry statement.

The meeting, which took place on Monday at the Ministry’s headquarters, allowed the examining ofways and means of promoting and developing cooperation through signing bilateral agreement in the pharmaceutical field, which would pave the way for “the exchange of information and experiences regarding registration, approval, quality control and good production practicescertificates,” according to the same source.

The two parties also agreedto support and promote cooperation between the pharmaceutical producers in the two countries in order to encourage joint investment in light of the opportunities and possibilities of bilateral regional partnership, especially through the establishment of mixed production units as well as a common platform for export.

The two parties committed themselves to the necessity of intensifying exchanges and strengthening the Algerian-Tunisian partnership in the pharmaceutical sector, as part of regional and continental economic integration, the statement concluded.
