Phone call between the President of the Republic and his Italian counterpart

On Tuesday, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, had a phone call with his Italian counterpart, Mr. Sergio Mattarella, during which the two parties discussed bilateral relations and issues of common interest, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.

“The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, had a phone call today with the President of the Italian Republic, a friendly country, Mr. Sergio Mattarella, who presented his wishes to him and to the Algerian people on the occasion of the advent of the sacred month of Ramadan,” the statement read.

The two presidents discussed “the upcoming meeting of the 9th edition of the High-Level Forum for Dialogue in the Mediterranean,” the same source added, specifying that “the President has accepted the invitation of his Italian counterpart to participate in the next edition.”

Regarding bilateral relations, the two heads of state “welcomed the pace of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the consolidation of the convergence and the deep and anchored friendship between the two friendly countries,” the same source continued.

The two Presidents also reviewed “regional and international issues of common interest serving the interest and stability of the region,” the statement concluded.
