Presentation of the digital library on marine sciences

A meeting devoted to the presentation of the digital library on marine sciences was organized Thursday at the National School of Marine Sciences and Coastal Planning (ENSSMAL) in Dely-Brahim (Algiers).

The first of its kind in Algeria, the digital library, whose design operation began last February, will bring together the 25,000 documents (books, articles, memoirs, maps, books and videos) that ENSSMAL has.

The library will allow, according to its designers, remote consultation of these digital documents on different viewing media, including tablets and smartphones.

On this occasion, the director of the School, Lynda Boutekrabt, indicated that the digital library “is part of our country’s policy aimed at guiding universities towards digitization for better governance”.

She added that thanks to this library, “we can preserve very old works”, specifying that this service is intended for students and teachers of the School.
