The President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense, Mr. Abdel Majid Tebboune, chaired on Monday the High Security Council, to assess the general situation prevailing in Algeria, notably the political and economic situations, as well as recent developments on international and regional levels.
This was contained in a communiqué by the presidency which quoted President Abdelmadjid Tebboune as stressing that all necessary measures should be taken to back a strong economic revival, following the recession caused by the Covid-19 epidemic which impacted the national economy and the oil prices.
President Abdelmaddjid Tebboune also gave guidelines to set up a scheme to encourage and motivate producers, with the involvement of the private and public sectors.
According to the communiqué, “The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdel Majid Tebboune, hailed efforts to maintain general stability amid a tense and complex regional environment.”
The President insisted on “the necessity of maintaining vigilance and caution at all levels, to enable Algeria to access the next important stages, in a way that adapts to the challenges of the year 2021, amidst unprecedented developments that the region has witnessed recently especially on the regional level ” concluded the communiqué by the Presidency.
