President and CEO of Sonatrach, Mr. Toufik Hakkar, accompanied by a delegation of the company executives traveled today to the town of Skikda, on a working and inspection visit to Skikda industrial zone, to follow up on the completion of the structural projects of the company and to see the progress of the production units.
Mr. Hakkar began his visit by inspecting the progress of the works of the expansion of the new oil port project, in which the progress of works is close to 80%.
This project will allow raising the loading and unloading capacities of various oil materials at Skikda port. It will also allow in the future to strengthen LNG marketing capabilities platform and facilitate the movement of large-sized ships destined for export, as it will enable the shipment of gas transport ships with a capacity of 220,000 cubic meters and oil tankers with a capacity ranging from 50,000 to 250,000 tons.
