
Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, Brahim Boughali, received today, Monday, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Algeria, Hossein Mashachizadeh, where the two sides discussed ways to develop bilateral parliamentary cooperation relations between the two countries, according to a press release of the Council.
The same source stated, “The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, Brahim Boughali, stressed at the beginning of the meeting the need to develop bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries, especially at the parliamentary level, which will be reinforced by the upcoming inauguration of the Algeria-Iran Friendship Group, in this context, he sent an invitation to the ambassador to attend the installation ceremony.”
Mr. Boughali – the statement adds – called on the Iranian ambassador to “continue efforts to diversify the areas of partnership between the two countries, especially in its economic aspect, especially since Algeria is striving to provide a more stimulating climate for investment by updating its relevant legal system.”
When reviewing the two countries’ positions on issues of concern to the region, the Iranian ambassador expressed his “satisfaction with the congruence of views on them, and took the opportunity to express his appreciation for the success achieved by Algerian diplomacy when the decision to grant the Zionist entity an observer status in the African Union was suspended.”
