The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired, today, Saturday, the government’s meeting with the governors under the slogan “economic recovery, regional balance, social justice,” according to a statement of the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities and Urban Planning.
Members of the government, governors of the republic, representatives of the two chambers of Parliament, central executives of the various ministerial departments, institutions and public bodies, as well as experts and specialists in the field are participating in the meeting held at the Palace of Nations in Club des Pins (Algiers), on 25 and 26 September.
Over the course of two days of work, the participants in this periodic meeting will “evaluate the extent to which the instructions given by the President of the Republic have been implemented during previous meetings,” and “discuss ways to create a new dynamic in the process of local development, especially by studying the axes related to the adaptation of local development and balanced regional development programs”, as well as “methods and means of reviving investment and managing crises at the local level”, in addition to “reforming the methods of managing public utilities”.
The meeting will culminate in a series of “practical recommendations” that will constitute a “road map for the next stage”, with the aim of “continuing to implement the commitments included in the program of the President of the Republic.”
