President of the Republic extends his condolences to the family of deceased sports mujahid Mohamed Soukan

President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent a message of condolences to the family of the deceased sports mujahid, Mohamed Soukan, the former player of the National Liberation Front football team, who died, today, Tuesday, at the age of 90, following a long illness.

In his message of condolences ,the President of the Republic said: “I learned with great sadness and pain the death of the football legend, the player of the National Liberation Front football team, Mujahid Muhammad Soukan.

The President of the Republic added, “the deceased, along with his fellow players, played a role in making the Algerian cause known during the glorious liberation revolution, through his busy football career in various major French clubs, influencing the national cause despite the temptations, as he and his companions left France towards sister Tunisia to found the National Liberation Front team in 1958, with the intent of making the voice of Algeria loudly heard in the international forums of that era.

The President of the Republic concluded: “Following this tragedy, I ask Allah the Almighty to embrace him with his mercy and forgiveness, and I extend my sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased and the football family and I ask Allah to grant his family and beloved ones forbearance and patience. We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return”.
