
President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed that the talks he held today, Monday, with the Italian Prime Minister, Mr. Mario Draghi, reflect the strength and solidity of relations between the two countries, which have a “great convergence of views” on major issues, such as Libya, Mali and the Sahel region.
The President of the Republic said, during a joint press statement with Mr. Draghi, after signing a number of bilateral cooperation agreements between the two countries, that the talks with the Italian Prime Minister were “intense and reflect the real strength and solidity of the relations that unite the two countries.”
These talks also revealed – adds the President of the Republic – a “great convergence of views on bilateral issues and issues of common interest, especially in the Maghreb region.”
President Tebboune alos said, “We recorded complete agreement on the major issues and the situation prevailing in Libya, Mali and the Sahel region,” and “we agreed to support the efforts of the UN envoy to Western Sahara and the MINURSO mission to settle the conflict.”
