
President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, while presiding today, Sunday over an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers devoted to the draft Finance Law 2023, gave instructions to give priority to improving the social situation of the citizen and preserving the abundance and stability of foodstuffs, especially subsidized ones, while addressing all forms of speculation.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic stated that, with regard to the purchasing power file, and after the Council heard the presentation of the Minister of Finance on the draft law, and discussed it, the President of the Republic gave directives and instructions through which he stressed “the role of the government, in maintaining the abundance and stability of foodstuffs especially the ones supported by the state, and confronting all forms of speculation.”
He also insisted in, “giving the utmost importance to improving the social situation of the citizen, in the first place.”
With regard to the housing sector, the President of the Republic directed the allocation of real estate containers for the construction of social housing, while continuing the state’s commitment to support rural housing.
With regard to the education sector, the President of the Republic ordered the optimal and efficient use of the structures, institutions and all the capabilities that currently exist, “in a way that allows preserving the financial capabilities of the state and benefiting from it for the benefit of the educational sector.”
With regard to the sector of the interior and local authorities, the President of the Republic directed the “immediate start” of a “deeply” review of municipal and state laws that would allow better performance and provide better services to citizens, with “accurate identification of responsibilities.”
In the same context, he ordered the preparation of an in-depth study, in preparation for a comprehensive review of the local collection system, according to the statement.
