President of the Republic leaves Algiers for a state visit to Qatar

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, left Algiers today, Saturday, for the State of Qatar, as part of a two-day state visit, at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The President of the Republic was seen off by Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane, the chief of staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant General Saïd Chanegriha, and the chief of staff of the presidency of the Republic, Abdelaziz Khellaf.

It is worth noting that the visit is “part of the strengthening of the fraternal relationship between the two brotherly peoples and the promotion of bilateral cooperation, in line with the strong and deep-rooted relations between the two peoples and the leaders of the two countries,” the presidency of the Republic said Friday in a statement.

President Tebboune will also attend the 6th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the GECF (Gas Exporting Countries Forum) Member Countries, due to be held in Doha, according to the statement.
