President of the Republic observes a minute of silence in memory and honour of martyrs’ souls

President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, observed a minute of silence at the Martyrs Sanctuary this morning, in honor of the souls of the martyrs and in memory of the victims of the massacres of October 17, 1961 in Paris.

On the occasion, President Tebboune laid a wreath and read Al-Fatiha on the souls of the martyrs.

The ceremony took place in the presence of President of the Council of the Nation, Salah Goudjil, the President of the People’s National Assembly (APN), Brahim Boughali, the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National  Army, Lieutenant General Saïd Chanegriha, members of the government and senior state officials.

President Tebboune decided, yesterday, to establish a minute of silence, to be observed annually, across the country, in honor of the souls of the martyrs of the massacres of October 17, 1961, in the French capital, Paris.
