President of the Republic orders creation of “effective” monitoring system on national unemployed ID card

President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, ordered today, Sunday, while presiding over a cabinet meeting, the creation of an “effective” monitoring system on the national unemployed ID card, for a “transparent and correct benefit.”

A statement of the Council of Ministers stated that during this meeting, the President of the Republic gave several instructions related to the regulatory and practical mechanism to put the unemployment pension into effect, as he ordered “the creation of an effective monitoring system on the national unemployed ID card for a transparent and correct benefit, taking into account the available job opportunities in various regions of the country.” .

President Tebboune called for “finding legal mechanisms to punish any fraud to benefit from this pension, including criminal prosecution,” and “distinguish between the unemployed youth pension with the rest of the privileges and grants offered to young people.”

The President of the Republic also ordered the “determination of the maximum age for new job seekers who are eligible to benefit from the unemployment pension according to reasonable and objective criteria, given the slow pace of investments which create jobs and the economic recession caused by Coronavirus pandemic.”
