President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired on Tuesday a meeting of the Council of Ministers during which he ordered to accelerate the creation of a mixed company of railway industry, in collaboration with foreign experts in this field and of international renown, the Council of Ministers said in a communiqué.
Regarding the public works sector, the President of the Republic has given guidelines to “accelerate the creation of a mixed company of railway industry, in collaboration with foreign expertise in this field and of international renown, with the aim of achieving a railway network covering the entire national territory, to connect the North to the South, and facilitate transport for the benefit of economic operators,” the same source said.
The President of the Republic has also ordered to “give absolute priority to the extension of the railways, especially those of Ouargla-Tamanrasset, Ghardaïa-El Menia and Gara Djebilet-Béchar, taking into account the economic and strategic importance of these axes,” the statement said.
