The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, ordered, while presiding over a cabinet meeting today, Sunday, the use of modern, innovative and locally produced technologies during the sixth general census of population and housing, which will be organized in 2022, according to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic.
The statement indicated that “as part of the 2022 census process, the president ordered the use of modern, innovative, locally produced technologies, with youthful capabilities, nationally, in the process of the new census, in line with the commitment to the economic take-off to be starting in 2022.”
In the same context, the President of the republic also ordered a review of the Local Authorities Law with the involvement of civil society, taking into account the peculiarities and economic capabilities of each municipality.
The President of the Republic also issued directives to exempt poor municipalities from the restoration and equipping of schools and school canteens, and to include them in the draft revision of the Local Authorities Law, the statement adds.
