President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, praised, today, Wednesday, the consensual and fraternal spirit that pervailed in the proceedings of the 31st session of the Arab Summit hosted by Algeria.
In his speech during the closing session of the summit held at the International Conference Center, the President of the Republic praised the consensual and fraternal spirit that prevailed in the summit’s proceedings, noting that it “allowed reviewing the prevailing conditions in the Arab region and its surroundings, as well as on the international arena.”
He indicated that the summit constituted an “important milestone in strengthening Arab solidarity in order to protect our common interests and to work as a unified and strong group with its capabilities and resources to truly position itself on the international and regional scene, and also allowed for ” taking a number of decisions likely to destine our joint work directly towards the Arab citizen to take care of his concerns and respond to his legitimate aspirations.”
He stressed that the ambitious decisions that came out of the Algiers summit “motivate us to redouble efforts during our presidency of the Council in order to implement what was agreed upon,” expressing his conviction that “the spirit of consensus and solidarity that characterized this summit will be a catalyst to move forward towards achieving our common goals.”
The President of the Republic thanked the participants in this important Arab event for their “valuable contributions to the success of the Algiers Summit and making it a summit of reunification, strengthening solidarity and unifying the Arab ranks in memory of the mother of revolutions, the eternal revolution of November.” Expressing his gratitude for achieving “the summit’s noble aims and core objectives, after two days of hard and constructive work and fruitful fraternal discussion.”
The President of the Republic also praised the “valuable opinions and wise initiatives that were agreed upon regarding enriching the outcomes of the summit and affirming our joint and firm commitment to defend the causes of our nation, especially the Palestinian cause, we all renewed our absolute support for the Palestinian people in order to restore all their legitimate rights, foremost of which is their right to establishing their independent state within the June 1967 borders, according to what was stated in the Arab Peace Initiative,” which represents – as he said – “the unified Arab position on our central issue.”
He also hailed the agreement of the Arab countries to “coordinate and unify efforts to support the process of achieving Palestinian national unity and support the request of the State of Palestine for full membership in the United Nations.”
At the conclusion of his speech, the President of the Republic expressed his sincere support to the sisterly State of Qatar as it prepares to host the FIFA World Cup and praised its efforts to “give an honorable image worthy of the Arab world and its culture full of noble values,” expressing his “absolute support for the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, which is preparing to host the 27th Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, wishing it all success.
On the occasion, the President of the Republic announced that he had received two messages from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, in which they confirmed their support for the outcomes of the Arab Summit hosted by Algeria.
