President of the Republic receives delegations participating in ministerial meeting of Libya neighboring countries

President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received, today, Tuesday, at the International Conference Center, the delegations participating in the ministerial meeting of the neighboring countries of Libya.

The President of the Republic received the Foreign Ministers of Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Niger, Chad and the Republic of Congo, as well as the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, Jan Kubis, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the African Union Commissioner for International Affairs, Peace and Security Bancole Adewe.

The reception was attended by Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Republic, Noureddine Bardad Daidj, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra.

During the reception, the President of the Republic stressed that “the neighboring countries are more interested in the stability of Libya, because the instability of Libya is the instability of all neighboring countries,” adding, “We hope that Libya will regain its position among the Maghreb, African and Arab countries.”

In this regard, the President of the Republic said, “Libya has all the human and economic capabilities and geographical location, which are all factors that qualify it to be an effective country in the Mediterranean region and in the Maghreb.”

The President thanked the participating delegations for attending this ministerial meeting hosted by Algeria, stressing that “what has been done is not easy, as all the neighboring countries of Libya met for the first time.”

In the end, the President of the Republic expressed his wishes that this meeting will be a “good sign, for a new start, to resolve the difficult Libyan issue, and this is in response to the wishes and aspirations of the brotherly Libyan people who are suffering both in these difficult circumstances.”

In conclusion, a family photo was taken of the President of the Republic with the delegations participating in the ministerial meeting of the neighboring countries of Libya, which took place over two days at the International Conference Center in Algiers.
