President of the Republic starts a working and inspection visit to Oran

President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, started a working and inspection visit to Oran on Thursday during which he will inaugurate and lay the first stone of several projects in different sectors.

President Tebboune will begin his working visit by laying the first stone of the project to build a seawater desalination plant, in the locality of “Cap Blanc” (commune of Aïn El-Kerma, daïra of Boutlelis).

He will then proceed to the inauguration of the new terminal of the international airport “Ahmed Ben Bella”, in the town of Es-Senia, before inaugurating the hotel classified five stars of the chain “AZ”, in the district of El-Barki, in the capital of the wilaya.

Also on the program for this visit is the inauguration of the Belgaïd Olympic complex, in the town of Bir El Djir, which includes a stadium for 40,000 spectators, a water sports center and a sports hall. These facilities will host the majority of the competitions of the 19th edition of the Oran-2022 Mediterranean Games, whose launch ceremony will take place next Saturday.

In the same locality, the President of the Republic, who is accompanied by a large ministerial delegation, will inaugurate the Mediterranean village with a capacity of 4,500 beds for athletes and their companions, as well as other facilities, like a burns hospital with a capacity of 120 beds, adjoining the University Hospital Establishment “November 1, 1954”, in the daïra of Bir El Djir.

Apon his arrival at “Ahmed Ben Bella” international airport, the President of the Republic was welcomed by the local civil and military authorities. After listening to the national anthem, he reviewed a detachment of the People’s National Army who paid him the honours.

Four ANP air force fighter planes flew over Oran international airport to greet the President of the Republic on his arrival in the western capital of the country.
